Newton 2000 Back-light

This sort of shows the back-lighting difference between my old Palm Pilot Pro and the Apple Newton MP2000. The camera makes them both seem a lot brighter, where with normal viewing - the Palm seems fine and the Newt seems very very dim - almost unreadable.

She's a bit beat up, missing cover, been "stained" black by someone, but she's operational! Screen has some scuff's as you can see in these photos. Some folks from the Newton mailing list suggested trying a screen protector to help mask this a bit - so I'm going to give that a shot.
